The Arkansas HAWKS began retiring jerseys of former program athletes as an honor from the HAWKS program. The chosen player, after “retiring” from the HAWKS program, may be recognized for their memorable careers on the court and/or promising future off the court. Future Arkansas HAWKS may wear the number, but their efforts as an Arkansas HAWKS athlete will be “hanging from the rafters” in the hearts of the HAWKS program forever.
|Carl Baker (#4) completed the Arkansas HAWKS program in 1999 and signed a basketball scholarship with the University of Arkansas. Carl played for the Arkansas Razorbacks 1999 – 2003. A native of Palestine, Arkansas Carl played for the Arkansas Hawks for several years.|
|Mike Conley, Jr. (#11) was born in Arkansas and began his early basketball career with the Arkansas HAWKS AAU/Travel Team in 1994. Affectionately known as “Lil’ Mike” in the HAWKS family, he moved with his family as a teen to Ohio. After finishing high school, Mike signed a basketball scholarship with Ohio State University in 2006. In 2007 the Memphis Grizzlies selected Mike Conley with the fourth overall pick.|
|Ronnie Brewer, Jr. (#9) is an Arkansas native and played his entire AAU/Travel Team with the Arkansas HAWKS. Ronnie signed a basketball scholarship with the University of Arkansas in 2003. After finishing his college career he was drafted in the NBA by the Utah Jazz with the 14th pick in 2006.|
|Joe Johnson (#24) is an Arkansas native who joined the Arkansas HAWKS AAU/Travel Team in 1998. Joe joined the Arkansas HAWKS and led the team to an AAU National Championship. After graduation from Little Rock Central, Joe signed with the University of Arkansas. Joe declared for the 2001 NBA draft and was the 10th overall pick by the Boston Celtics. Joe is a premier player in the NBA and has numerous accolades including several All-Star selections.|
